Coalition for the Homeless

The mission of the Coalition for the Homeless is to prevent and end homelessness and the causes of homelessness in Louisville.

Coalition for the Homeless

We advocate for better laws and policies that address the root causes of homelessness, educate the community in order to create change, and coordinate the services of our nearly 30 member shelters, agencies, and advocacy groups in the Louisville area. The Coalition for the Homeless has been the lead advocate for the homeless since our founding in 1986. Our coordination makes services to the homeless more cost-effective, efficient, and compassionate. Our member agencies provide housing, food, health care, counseling, and legal services to the people experiencing homelessness. Our job is to evaluate the needs of the homeless and our agencies, to identify and address gaps in services community-wide, and to implement smart, long-term solutions.
